CLOTH MASKS

I have been sewing cloth masks since March 2020.  It is a simple pattern that has one layer plus a filter pocket and has gathers on the ends.  Nothing fancy.  Recently I tried to make a 3 D mask.  It took me a very long time to make just one and I swore I wouldn't make any more.  However, I did notice that the masks I had been making did tend to cave into the mouth when talking.  So I watched many more videos on how to make the 3D mask and picked one that looked the easiest and then tweaked it.  

These masks are 2 layers of 100% cotton with an additional cloth filter pocket making it 3 layers.  I also place a paper filter inside making it 4 layers making it effective in preventing the virus from penetrating.  It has a nose piece to help fit around the nose.  It takes more material than the masks I was making previously as well as more time but I do like the looks and the fit much more.

The wider pattern allows me to fold over the sides and sew down the bottom edges better.  It will probably fit a larger face which is my desire as I only use this one pattern as a one size fits all.
